Hey Guys! I haven't Blogged in a while, I've been busy with school, work, etc. BUT its Finally SUMMER, so I finally have time! Now, I've been wanting to review this product for quite some time and OF COURSE I finally have time!

It's the Hard Candy "Just Face It" One Step Foundation

TA-DA!

It's offered in ten different shades, Porcelain(Not Pictured) Fair, Ultra Light(Not Pictured), Light Beige(Not Pictured), Light, Light Medium(Not Pictured),Medium, Medium Tan, Tan and Deep, which is kind of a downside to the foundation but other than that IT IS LITERALLY HEAVEN SENT! Now Let's Break this down.

Packaging

The product itself comes in a small plastic bottle which is clear, but since the bottle is filled up with product it imitates the product colour. The labelling is all in white which makes it easier to read. The label also has a swirly design which add's a cuteness factor. When purchasing the product it is tightly sealed in plastic, which you will remove once you intend on using it. What I love about this foundation and other ones that have this feature : THE PUMP! Having a pump makes foundation retrieval so much easier and neater! The pump also has a small lid!

Hard Candy is an American cosmetics company, founded in 1995, by Iranian-American Sisters and Benjamin A. Einstein

What?

To Be honest I never started considering wearing foundation until I turned 19. I would always

turn to moisturizers and was never really into make up(But obviously that didn't last long!)

I was looking for a foundation, really any foundation and some how this foundation caught my eye.

When?

I was just browsing for makeup for a party that I needed to go to in September 2011( LOL I remember the date). I knew that I needed a foundation to complete my look.

Where?

Being a student, as much as I wanted to indulge on Urban Decay Naked Palettes or Make-Up Forever's HD invisible cover foundation I knew it wasn't budget permitting. I went into the Wal-Mart cosmetics section and came across the Hard Candy Foundation. At the $6.98 price tag, I was sold.

Why?

To be honest, I was clueless about foundation, and I was just going to test out the product.

My Take

Well first of I should mention I have "Problem-skin". When I say Problem, I mean the whole nine-yards, oily skin, acne and post acne scars. I need something that will cover my problem areas, and not clog my pores. I picked up the shade Medium Tan (Asian-Pakistani skin tone) and decided to give it a test run. I washed my face and applied my regular acne face cream and began. I used the pump and put some product on top of my hand and used a make up sponge to apply the foundation. The foundation's consistency is somewhere from mousse to a thick cream. When applying the foundation, you need to work this foundation with a speedy hand. Why? This formula is a little drier and it will set fast.

*Note: The pump works extremely well, I would use one or two pumps and it'd cover my entire face!*

What I loved!

It is AMAZING!The foundation provides medium to full coverage. The saying "Little goes a long way" actually applies! After applying I noticed the foundation had a matte finish/powdery look to my face, whic I was impressed with! Even with my problem skin, this foundation actually helpedto tame the issues I had! Reading the ingredients, it actually contains Kaolin Clay, Silica and Cucumber Extract. Kaolin is a perfect oil absorber, Silica a great buffer to fine lines and Cucumber helps to retain a little moisture.

After wearing the foundation for up to 5 hours, I noticed I was a little oily and touched up with setting powder, but it still wasn't bad and my face looked like I had freshly done my make up right then and there.

What I wished was different!

If the foundation isn't applied quickly and appropriately, it may look cake-y and NO-ONE LIKES CAKE-Y Make up(Unless that's your thing. then no offence). Another thing is that there are not enough colours for us different skinned-tone beauties to enjoy! HARD CANDY MAKE MORE COLOURS! Along with various shades, I think Hard Candy should focus on undertones as well. Not everyone has pink, peachy undertones. Like myself, I have an olive to yellow-ish kind of undertone. and although from a far you think the foundation doesn't have a set undertone, the pay off shows pink hues. Luckily my bronzer and highlighter combat that.

Recommend or Not?

HECK YA! If you have combo oily, oily or a normal skin, give this foundation a try. I got my mom and sister hooked onto it and it's seriously all we use! I am not too sure how it'd work on dry skin due to the consistency and how it applies, but I guess everyone could give it a try!
