Packaging

   I placed my order April 16th 2015. The anticipated shipping was 15-20 days but to my surprise my contacts ended being delivered within a week!

The contact came in a bubble packaging envelope, which I guess is more cost effective (Free Shipping) then sending it in a box. I quickly opened the package to see the contents.

In the package was a contact lenses storage case, the lenses themselves and a pamphlet.

The pamphlet is pictured above with the model and on the baack it shows the eight different lenses being offered.

*Note* I don't know if it was just me or not but I had a really diffucult time trying to remove the contacts out of the packaging above. They were sealed shut, Which made me a little disappointed because I literally wanted to wear them right away! It took me a good 5-10 minutes to get them out.

ARE DESIO LENSES ONLY COSMETIC, OR CAN THEY BE ORDERED WITH A PRESCRIPTION?

I ordered the plano ones (no prescription) but they are also available in prescription if needed.

Desio lenses are produced for those who only want to change the color of their iris, as well as for those who have acuity problems, such as myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. Please consult with your Eye Care Specialist first to determinate whether you need prescription lenses or not.

Plano lenses are cosmetic without prescription, for those customers with 20/20 acuity vision, who only want to change the color of their iris.

Special Prescription lenses are for customers with a high prescription over -6.00, or hyperopia (positive lenses) and are not kept in stock, they must first be ordered from the manufacturer.

Toric lenses are for customers with astigmatism. These orders must be especially produced for a customer after ordering,

Review

 I AM IN LOVE!!! I absolutely love how these contacts look and feel. They look so natural it's unbelievable! After my wrestling match with the packaging, I was utterly pleased with the results. They are quite comfortable on the eyes, they don't hurt when you put them in and they barely feel like they're there! I wore them for about 9 hours the day I got them (LOL you can call me obssessed) and I didn't need eye drops or anything! Here are some pictures of me with the contacts!

Mini Needs - Bath And Body Works Edition.

 
Candles

    Every single time I go to the Mall, I need to make a pit stop at Bath and Body Works, even if I'm not going to buy anything. Why? Because IT SMELLS SO GOOD! So for the past week or so I've been going in and out of B&BW just like that and decided I definitely need to purchase something.
B&BW is definitely one of my favourite stores, that I barely purchase from LOL.
 
   Anyways, lately I have found a newfound obsession with candles. Well it's not really newfound, my previous roommates always had such amazing scented candles, pretty sure they're the ones that got me hooked! I've bought a couple Yankee Candles, which are quite loved and well known. They're scents are amazing but I've noticed the candle kind of had a tunnelling effect (Read about it here) which I absolutely detest, because it feels like such a waste of a candle!

   Having a candle in my room is definitely one of my trademarks, but lately I had been noticing my candles disappearing from my room. Turns out my brother had been lighting my candles and been putting them in his room! I confronted him and he admitted he liked having his room fragrant like vanilla icing (LOL). I asked him if he'd like me to buy him a candle and he kind of refused, thinking it'd be a girly thing to say yes to, but I had decided that I was going to go get my brother his own personal candle.
   
     So, Last weekend I went to B&BW with the intents and purposes to purchase candles. When I got there, I was welcomed with the huge whiff of different scents and a B&BW worker who greeted me and asked me if I needed help for anything. I told her at the moment I'm just looking for candles in which she responded, If I needed any help she'd help me and told me the specials that were available. During the period I went 2 for 25.50/3-wick Candles deal was going on which was perfect, although I feel like they have been on sale for cheaper. 3 wick candles are truly heaven-sent in my opinion, you definitely don't 'have that tunnelling effect and the candle goes down evenly when set to dry or even being used, perfect for the OCD girl inside of me! So I was glad, I had walked into a deal.

   When the associate left I got to work. I kid you not I must have smelt like 25 candles in there trying to decide which one I should buy. For me candles must have THREE qualities : Visually appealing,  Strong Scent Payoff and Long Lasting. Personally, I enjoy sweet scents (obsessed with vanilla icing candle by Yankee Candles), so the first one I set on was Vanilla Bean Marshmallow, it smell so amazing and sweet, I knew I had to had it. Buying the second one, I kind of had an issue. It was so hard to choose! Bath and Body Works is one of those stores, where you'd walk in and want to get everything and thats the clear dilemma I was experiencing. I approached Nicole (the sales associate) and asked her in her opinion or knowledge which candle has the highest scent pay off. She directed me to about five candles which I began smelling. Out of the five I chose Coconut leaves as it had the most fragrant and pleasing scent. I thought my brother would like this one and grabbed it.
 
   There I had it, my two choices, Vanilla Bean Marshmallow and Coconut leaves 3-wick candles, for 25.50 + applicable taxes which would have made my bill for 28.82 BUT since I have an SPC card(student price card) I was discounted 10% from the original price which made my bill $25.93 CDN.

   I came home and presented my brother with the two options and to my surprise he chose the
Vanilla Bean Candle! I ended up giving the Coconut Leaves for household use and honestly they're not everyone's favourites! Every morning the Coconut Leaves Candle is lit because of its amazing scent. I don't get to smell it a lot since it's hidden in my brothers room, but when I do pass by his house it smells amazing!

Now the real reason I go to B&BW is for these little guys! Hand sanitizers can also be found at the dollar store but I most definitely enjoy the different colour and scents they offer! And in my opinion they last quite some time! The last time I bought these were last summer and 3 lasted me the entire year! I went into Bath and Body Works yesterday just to check out some mother's day deals, and saw that they had there 3-wick candles 2 for $34.00 which shocked me! But I was so glad I purchased them at the right time!

    Now these hand sanitizers are located at the back of the store where you can purchase your merchandise. My usual favourite are pink chiffon, and strawberry shortcake but I thought this time around I should probably choose something different. Bath and Body Works had these little guys 3/$5.00 which averages out to $1.67 per 29 ml bottle! This time I decided to get Hawaiian Pink Hibiscus, Magnolias and Mimosas, and Maui Mango Mai Tai.

    Two of the scents I purchased are very tropical. I love mangoes and it's most definitely my favourite fruit, so when I saw that this was offered, I smelled it right away and was taken away by the scent. It has most definitely captured the essence of the mango and took me back to summer, so it was a summer MUST HAVE! Hawaiian Pink Hibiscus definitely is a very tropical scent. On the website it states that it is intoxicating blend of hibiscus petals & pink guava which definitely takes you back to tropical paradise! Magnolias and mimosas is a very sweet, summery scent obviously which fits into my tastes. On the websites it is stated that it is a charming fragrance of magnolia petals blended with sweet mimosa and creamy sandalwood.

Whatever it may be, I am clearly obsessed with Bath and Body Works and you should be too!

How is the event celebrated today?

DEALS OR STEALS? - Dollar Store Finds! : Charcoal Face Mask and Face Wash

I was going to go pick up some party supplies from my local Dollar Tree, and was glancing through their Health and Beauty Section, when I came across two products that caught my eyes. Charcoal Face Mask and a Charcoal Face Wash.

Now as you can see, the product is not that visually appealing but what did catch my eye is Charcoal. There's 142 g

What's So Good About Charcoal?

  The only firsthand experience I have with charcoal is, I don’t know, using it to heat the grill in the summertime.But, did you know that charcoal is great for your skin? Because of its natural detoxifying properties, it can be used to whiten teeth, remove poisons from your body, and cleanse! My skin, like I've previously mentioned, is problem skin, acne, clogged pores you name it! So I've read how Charcoal may help.

  Activated charcoal has high adsorptive powers, which means that it draws other elements into itself. Charcoal is activated through heat and exposure to steam and certain chemicals. This process causes the carbon to form enlarged "pores," which are fissures and pockets in its surface. When it is exposed to contaminants, they literally become trapped in the carbon's pores. Charcoal also has antibacterial properties that can help heal wounds. Activated carbon is used for everything from industrial water filtration to medicinal supplements.

My Take

 The product itself has a very creamy consistency. The scent is not at all what I expected like charcoal, it actually has somewhat of a medicinal scent. You can visibly see little black spots which I am assuming is the powdered charcoal. When applying the product it goes on smooth, but it does not produce a lot suds, it's more like a lotion. When done applying and rinsing my face with water, my face does feel clean and the fragrance lingers. I like the product especially at that price tag. If it helps with my face and pores I'll repeatedly buy it! So far it seems like its working.

Recommend or Not

If you're on a budget and want to give it a try, go for it! The product itself isn't bad, and does the job. Charcoal is the factor that attracted me to the product and if it does claim to withdraw all the toxins in my skin, then for $1.25+ I'll try it out. It hasn't caused me to break out more or damaged my skin, which means its gentle on my skin. Next time your out at your local dollar tree, grab one!

3.5/5 - Packaging wise, the product is a disappointment for myself, it's too simple. I would rather have the open/close mechanism instead of the screw on/off cap. The medicinal scent is something I can do with out. With face washes, I prefer to have suds instead of a cream consistency, with problem skin creamy face washes make it feel like your pores are being clogged more where as foamy washes provide light and gentle cleaning.

Recommend: Weekly for dry skin. More often for oily skin.

My Take

Darker than the face wash, it legitimately looks like you are applying charcoal to your face!When applying the product goes on exactly how you expect a mask to go on. As soon as I apply the mask it has a cooling effect on my face which feels nice. When done applying  and waiting for it to dry the cooling effect remains. Rinsing my face with water, to remove the product is easy, a little diffucult in some spots but what mask isn't?  My face feels amazing and still has that cooling effect even after.  I love the product especially at that price tag, definitely more than the face wash. My skin does look cleaner but that maybe in conjunction with the face wash but its absolutely FAB!

Recommend or Not
If you're on a budget or not, GO FOR IT! The product is AMAZING, and does the job WELL. Charcoal is the factor that attracted me to the product and I'm truly a believer. It definitely feels like it cleans my pores and has a cooling effect while its on and even after I've washed my face. I am super obsessed and definitely favour the mask over the face wash!
